Knute Larson coaches pastors and churches, majoring on pulpit, leadership, and daily grace and drawing on 41 years as senior pastor at two churches, the last 26 being at The Chapel, in Akron, Ohio.
He works closely with three churches as adjunct staff, coaches five others every month, and meets regularly in groups with pastors of the Great Lakes Evangelical Free Churches. Other teaching is for D.Min courses at Trinity and Grace seminaries, and pastoral courses at Moody.
Knute and Jeanine now live in Sawyer, Michigan. They are parents of two married daughters in the Chicago area, and three grandchildren.
He is the author of three books and two commentaries, and a graduate of both Grace and Trinity seminaries.

In the quarter century at The Chapel, the church guided over 40% of its offerings “outside the walls” of the building, grew to over 8,000 in attendance each Sunday, started three new Chapels in nearby towns, and built a second campus to become “one church in two locations.”
Mission became the church’s middle name with local and global involvement. The Chapel’s Adult Bible Fellowship approach is now used in over 4,000 churches.
Akron’s mayor called Knute “minister for the city” because of leadership in city needs and with racial reconciliation, and because of the influence with TV and radio spots.
His fifth and newest book is titled You Decide: Five Beliefs That Change My Life. He has also written The Great Human Race, The ABF Book, and two commentaries for Holman.

Knute, We met many years ago at WLGBC. You were moderator of FGBC and meeting with Pastor Ashman, my mentor. I became director of GB Navajo Mission and now with CHIEF ministries, Phoenix. I teach Spiritual Leadership at Indian Bible College, Flagstaff, AZ, and am very glad to find your site, which should be a good help to the Native American students I teach.

Knute, we met breaking up a fight together in West Akron in 2006. we ended up corresponding through e-mails afterwards. I was a Correction Officer at the time, an alcoholic and a lesbian. You Baptized me on March 11th, 2007. I will never forget the ladies at the church not understanding why you would Baptize a stranger.My life did not change immediately, but it certainly changed since that moment. It has been 3 years that I have given up my sin of homosexuality. I still struggle with various bouts of relapse with alcoholism. But spiritually, my life has changed slowly but dramatically in God’s time. Praise be to Yeshua Hamashiach my Lord and Savior, I pray that this message finds you well and in good health and that I may hear from you again,

Knute, thanks for having this site (and Fred, thanks for managing it!). I have always appreciated your leadership. Now that I have retired from full-time ministry, I am doing some mentoring and pulpit fill. Thanks for your support and encouragement along the way. Lord willing, we will meet again on this side of God’s great eternal curtain!
